Day 5

Our route today started in Cooke City, MT – went up to Beartooth Summit in WY and back to Cooke City, MT.  About 66 miles, 6,200 ft of climbing.   A huge climbing day, on a very famous and beautiful mountain ride in this area of the country!  We summited at 10,947 ft – the highest any of us have ever cycled.

            Elk: yes, about a dozen

            Bison: yes, 1,000+

            Mule deer: yes, about a dozen

            Antelope: yes, about ½ dozen

            Bald eagles: yes, 2

            Mountain sheep: yes, 2
