Day 10

Our route today was from Colter Bay Village, WY to Jackson, WY.  About 41 miles, 600 ft of climbing.   We made it to the finish line!!

            Moose: yes, 2!!
Elk: yes, about a dozen
            Bison: yes, 1,000+

            Bald eagles: yes, 2
Golden eagles: yes, 2
            Mountain sheep: yes, 2

Day 9

Our route today was from Lake Lodge, WY to Colter Bay Village, WY.  About 60 miles, 2,100 ft of climbing.   Wonderful cold start to the day (about 40F) and warming up through the day – beautiful sunny weather and very smooth roads.  A very good ride today.  Highlight: after the ride today we went for a drive – and spent about ½ hour with 2 moose eating just yards from us in a bog in the Teton National Park. First time I’ve seen a moose in the wild in 38 years!

Day 8

Our route today was from Creekside Lodge, WY to Lake Lodge, WY (back in Yellowstone).  About 39 miles, 3,200 ft of climbing; an excellent climb back into the mountains and going over a pass that is on the edge of the Yellowstone caldera.

Day 7

Our route today was from Cody, WY to Creekside Lodge, WY.  About 41 miles, 1,900 ft of climbing riding along the Shoshone River heading back up and toward Yellowstone Park.  Our first day of strong winds – unfortunately right into our face for basically the entire ride at 15-20 mph.  Good work out…
